Google announced the first batch of Android One devices as they partnered with Micromax, Spice and Karbonn for hardware and the Micromax Canvas A1 was quickly sell out on Amazon.in, others being launched alongside include Karbonn Sparkle V on Snapdeal.com and Spice Dream UNO Mi-498on Flipkart.com. These are "High Quality" but low price Android Smartphones and India is the first country where Google launched Android One.

In high-tech phones customized version of android by smartphone companies work fine but in low budget small smartphones, these versions of theirs do not work as smoothly as Google want you to have the experience of, companies like LG, Samsung etc do not provide the same android that Google makes for them, they remove various significant features and add their own featured apps, but this works for them but not in small smartphones. Therefore Google came up with Android one suitable for small smartphone, doesn't have any third party user interface and any useless features. Google is responsible for choosing the right hardware and software for these Android one devices. In addition, Google promises on providing updates on the software for at least next two years. That means your phone will be updated latest on android versions and it ensures smooth performance too, if you choose to buy it.
